Top 10 Reasons You Need a Website

By

Thinking about creating a website? If the answer is no, you could be missing out on many opportunities. A website is a wonderful way to tell the world about your personal hobbies and talents, your work experience, get in touch with old friends, and make you globally available twenty-four hours a day. Some people fear that they are not technologically savvy enough to maintain a website, or they fear the cost, commitment or publicity of a website, but the top 10 reasons you need a website may cause you to reconsider.

1. Doing what you love.

Have you heard the expression, "Do what you love and you will never work a day in your life?" Doing what you love is the key to success. Do you have something you love so much that you spend your time daydreaming about it? Would you like to see yourself make money from it in 5 years? If so, a website can help you to earn money from doing what you love.

2. Establish an Online Presence

You can establish a website that reflects your personality. You make the decisions about what you want the world to see. Eventually, people will come to know and trust you through your online presence.

3. Unlimited Advertising

It costs money to advertise through newspapers, or print advertisements. Often these advertising investments provide little or no return. Having your own website will provide you with unlimited advertisement for very little money. Advertising through a website reaches more people and is a very wise investment.

4. Making Yourself or Your Business Accessible 24 hours a Day

By owning your own website, you can make yourself available to your customers or your family and friends twenty-four hours a day. People in other time zones do not have to wait for business hours to contact your or to purchase your products. If you own a business website, you will never miss a sale because you were closed.

5. You Can Earn Money Without a Product

Have you considered selling from a website, but have no product to sell? You do not have to purchase and store products to make money from online sales. Affiliate marketing makes it possible for you to advertise products for other businesses through your website. When visitors to your website purchase these products, you get a share of the revenue.

6. As a Business Owner You Qualify for Tax Deductions

Earning money from your website may qualify you for tax deductions. As a business owner you may be able to deduct car expenses, computer-related costs, advertising, software, and cell phone expenses. All of these deductions help you to minimize you annual tax liability.

7. Websites are Low Cost

It is very economical to establish a website. You will need to register a domain name and purchase a web hosting service. This can be done for less than $20 per month.

8. Building a Website is Becoming Easier than Ever Before

Because of advances in technology, it has become easier to design your website. Web hosting providers like Dreamhost make it very simple. With the click of a button, you can install Wordpress, Joomla, and other software that makes the design quick and easy.

9. You Can Be Your Own Boss

Having your own website, and your own online business, allows you to be your own boss. No longer do you have to take orders from someone else. As your own boss, you make the decisions about how you spend your time, organize your day, and make your own business decisions.

10. Income Potential

The income potential from owning your own website is amazing. Having your own website business gives you the edge you need to keep up with inflation. Living expenses are rising dramatically, at a rate greater than 3%, yet it is unlikely that your job has been increasing your salary at a rate that keeps up with inflation. Having your own website business can add financial security in during uncertain times.

Good tips. But remember that a website is like a business card, it does nothing for your business until you get it in front of people's eyes.

...and unfortunately that's the really hard part!

Great hub with some really good tips. Particularly like number 5!

#5 is the best of all. The entire focus of most new businesses is figuring out what product to promote or how to design one, but here you don't need anything!

Very true indeed, and I 3rd number 5!

Some great advice here. Any business that does not have a website is missing out on the best marketing tool of all. It doesn't have to be expensive, and it opens up your presence to a potentially global audience.

Will share this hub with some people I know that are interested in starting an online biz
